The whole koji brewing (black koji) is stored for a long time in white oak barrels and the barley shochu is blended to create a fragrant shochu. Sake stored in barrels evaporates naturally during aging. The evaporated portion is called "Angel's share (Tenshi no wakemae)." The stunning amber color is a gift from the oak barrel. Received the Grand Gold Medal at "Monde Selection 2000."

Shochu with a bite

Good but very different from the Gorin Sho I tried before. The difference between 25% and 38% is really significant. Very sip friendly.

As you say, 'GORIN SHO' has an alcohol content of 25%.
After a short period of maturation, mineral water near the brewery is added to create a mellow taste.

On the other hand, 'TENSHI NO WAKEMAE' is a rice and barley blended Shochu and aged in white oak barrels. So it has a different aroma and taste.
Maybe in winter, pour 50ml of 'TENSHI NO WAKEMAE' into 50ml of boiling water to slowly warm it up.
